We are seeking a Personal Support Aide to join our team at Community Living Port Colborne-Wainfleet. As a Personal Support Aide, you will provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Accompany clients on outdoor recreational activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of medical equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Perform other duties related to client care and comfort, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
- Make beds and maintain clients' rooms, ensuring a clean and comfortable environment.
- Transport clients between care facilities, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Report accidents, distress signals, navigational hazards, and other emergencies, taking prompt action to ensure client safety.
- Attend scheduled practice and training sessions, staying up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
- Participate in staff meetings, contributing to team discussions and decision-making.
- Hold a valid driver's license, with a clean driving record.
- Have a First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate, demonstrating a commitment to client safety and well-being.
- Have a minimum of 1 month to less than 7 months of experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of client needs and preferences.
- Be available to work 30 hours per week, with a flexible schedule to meet client needs.
- Be fluent in English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
