Personal Support Worker Opportunity in Thunder Bay

The Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay has a rewarding opportunity for a Personal Support Worker to join their team. As a member of a multidisciplinary care team, the successful candidate will provide care for residents in a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide basic nursing care based on each resident's developed care plan and within the framework of an established nursing program.
- Encourage and support resident participation in activities of daily living.
- Provide input into the development and maintenance of resident care plans and participate in resident care conferences.
- Report changes in residents' physical and mental condition to the Registered Nurse and document as per policy.
- Maintain a safe environment for residents and staff, demonstrating an appropriate response to emergencies and safety procedures.
- Successful completion of a recognized personal support worker or developmental services worker program.
- Enrolled at a college or university in the registered practical nursing or registered nursing program.
- A genuine interest and understanding of the needs of the elderly.
- Certification in CPR.
- Competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
