About the Role
Sorenson Communications is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide exceptional interpreting services in our Video Relay Service (VRS) team. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between Deaf and hearing individuals through accurate and efficient interpretation.
Salary Range
We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpretation skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for connecting people through effective communication. You will work closely with our team to deliver high-quality interpretation services that meet the needs of our customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and efficient sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation services
- Maintain compliance with national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements
- Adhere to Sorenson policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and codes of conduct
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Enhance interpreting skills through ongoing education and training
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred)
- Interpreter certification (e.g., NIC or NAD-RID)
- Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Familiarity with industry software and technology (training provided)
