Job Title: Senior Cinematics Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cinematics Designer to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a key member of our creative team, you will be responsible for crafting and implementing real-time cinematics from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Creative Director, you will work on creating and implementing real-time cinematics, collaborating with directors and other cine artists to achieve the overall creative direction of the scenes.
  • You will assist in shaping the pipelines and processes required to deliver high-quality cinematics, from pre-vis through to completed shots.
  • Crafting, creating, tuning, and implementing cameras in the game engine will be a key part of your role.
  • You will implement and build cinematic scenes, blocking in characters, cameras, and props.
  • Collaborating with multiple disciplines, including Animation, Art, Audio, Tech, and Level Design, to ensure the needs of the scenes are communicated and maintained.
  • Assisting with the prepping of mocap and performance capture shoots.
  • Predicting dependencies and production requirements and successfully communicating those requirements to the team.
  • Being a champion for our story and characters, conveying emotions through cinematic cameras and bringing creative solutions to strengthen the scenes.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a relevant field (previs, layout, game cinematics)
  • A strong understanding of visual storytelling, cinematography, editing, and scene composition.
  • Ability to quickly communicate ideas for a fast, early iteration.
  • Solid working knowledge of Game Development Engines (Frostbite/Unreal/Unity), Maya, MotionBuilder, and professional editing software (After Effects/Premiere).
  • Experience with body and facial performance capture pipelines.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the principles of animation.
  • Background in photography or cinematography is a plus.
