Software Engineering Manager for Global Logistics Optimization

About the RoleWe are seeking an exceptional Software Development Manager to join our Fulfillment Optimization organization in SCOT. As a key member of our team, you will lead a group of talented engineers in designing, developing, and launching new features and products that drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
Your primary responsibility will be to manage services that model Amazon's transportation network and optimize it for cost, enabling better promises and driving fulfillment planning and execution to lower transportation costs. These services must be highly available, low latency, and scalable to meet the demands of our growing business.
Key Responsibilities- Directly manage a team of software development engineers, including hiring, performance assessments, and career development
- Collaborate with product and business leaders to identify new features that can bring substantial benefits to customers
- Translate business requirements into engineering requirements, scope resource needs, and manage multiple projects and dependencies effectively
- Drive operations excellence by analyzing ticket root causes, defects, and technical debt, and creating projects to reduce both short-term and long-term operational load
- 4+ years of experience in leading engineering teams
- 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
- 3+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems
- 8+ years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
A competitive salary ranging from $171,400 to $286,200 per year, based on your skills and experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, financial, and other perks.
