Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

At Heartland Transport Ltd, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and Unload Goods: Ensure that goods are properly loaded and unloaded from vehicles, taking care to prevent damage and ensure efficient transit.
  • Operate and Drive Vehicles: Safely operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of vehicles, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs as needed to ensure minimal downtime and maintain vehicle safety.
  • Inspections and Record Keeping: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements:
  • Certifications and Licenses: Possess Air Brakes Endorsement and Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks).
  • Security and Safety: Pass a driving record check (abstract) and undergo a drug test.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Demonstrate attention to detail, ability to handle heavy loads, and sit for extended periods.
