  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and resolving issues related to record access and release.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and industry standards to ensure compliance and optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to documentation standards and health information management.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of patient records, including maintenance, retrieval, and disposal.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to facilitate understanding of health information practices and processes.
  • Identify areas of concern for potential litigation and sensitive clinical record content for review.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess:



  • A two-year college diploma in Health Information Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in Health Information Management, Admitting, or a related support area.
  • Certification from the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) or Membership with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).
  • Thorough knowledge of legislation governing access and release of patient information, health records administration procedures, and hospital database management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and records management systems.
  • Highly professional with outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with statistical aptitude and a high degree of accuracy.
