Job Title: Senior Environmental Professional

Join Dillon Consulting, a leading environmental consulting firm, as a Senior Environmental Professional. In this role, you will lead the technical development of local staff, provide technical and business mentorship, and engage in team building and recruiting.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical development of local staff, with support from Dillon's training programs and broader team of environmental professionals.
  • Provide technical and business mentorship to less experienced environmental professionals.
  • Engage in team building and recruiting for the Vancouver office.
  • Responsible for local team engagement and integration with Dillon's national team of over 120 environmental professionals.
Project Management & Design
  • Project management and coordination support to the local and national contaminated site teams.
  • Development of remedial action plans and assistance in the design of site remediation options.
  • Economic analyses, capital cost estimates, and operating cost estimates in support of remedial design.
  • Understand environmental regulations related to contaminated sites work in British Columbia and other jurisdictions.
Business Development
  • Work with client managers and business unit leads to identify, support, and pursue contaminated assessment and remediation related opportunities.
  • Developing winning proposals.
  • Establish a reputation for contaminated sites expertise and specialized services.
  • Maintaining relationships with existing clients and building relationships with new clients.

Qualifications
  • A degree in engineering, geology, biology, ecology, hydrogeology, or a related environmental science or engineering discipline.
  • Certification or designation through The Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals Society (CSAP), Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), Engineers & Geoscientist British Columbia (EGBC), or alternative.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in environmental consulting and/or related work experience.
Experience
  • Strong background in several of: Phase I, II, & III ESAs, soil and groundwater sampling programs, surface water and sediment sampling programs, soil vapour sampling, contaminated site remediation project, and health and safety.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation and policies.
  • Demonstrated success in the leadership of multidisciplinary project teams and business development.
