About the Opportunity

The Physiotherapy Resident will work under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Services Manager to assess, diagnose, and treat patients in a tertiary care setting. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in physiotherapy principles and practices, with a focus on holistic treatment programs that promote optimal function and well-being.

The Physiotherapy Resident will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient. This will involve conducting thorough assessments, developing and implementing treatment programs, and communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in physiotherapy, with a focus on evidence-based practice and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated physiotherapist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for physiotherapy and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

  • Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body)
  • Computer skills (statistics input, word processing, Outlook)
  • Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
  • WHMIS training and certification
  • Additional courses/education/training in specialized areas or practice, e.g. cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Full-time Long Assignment, % FTE; 75 hours biweekly
  • Approximately 12 months
  • Shifts include days and some weekends
  • Travel to various sites may be required
Compensation and Incentives

$33.97 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
