About the Role:

Glatfelter is seeking a highly skilled Automation Control Engineer to join our team at our Gatineau facility. As an Automation Control Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of our Osisoft PI system, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new digital solutions to meet internal customer needs, utilizing machine data and analysis.
  • Design, develop, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability of process control systems and quality control equipment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop preliminary solutions or concepts to problems or opportunities, increasing the reliability and efficiency of production lines.
  • Perform detailed engineering of assigned projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Monitor and update technical drawings and documentation, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Identify and recommend spare parts to store, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
  • Assist in the implementation and adherence to engineering procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in the technical development of electromechanics, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and innovations.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Experience in system development on PI/Osisoft (PI vision), MicroSoft tools, SQL server.
  • University degree in Automated Production Engineering or Electrical Engineering, OIQ member or fit to become.
  • Knowledge of industrial systems such as Engine, Drive, PLC Control Logix, RS-View, and Factory Talk Operator Interface and process control systems.
  • Industrial experience an asset.
  • Experience 0 to 2 years.
