The Ville de Côte Saint-Luc is seeking an experienced Urban Forestry Professional to join our team. This permanent full-time position offers a competitive salary and a range of benefits.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled professional with a college diploma in arboriculture, landscaping, agronomy or other relevant field. The successful candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in a related role and excellent knowledge of written and spoken French.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, providing expertise on urban forestry matters and contributing to the development of strategies for screening and preventing tree diseases. They will also be responsible for collaborating with various city departments and stakeholders, including the public, to promote and manage the city's urban forests.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on urban forestry matters to city departments and stakeholders;
  • Develop and implement strategies for screening and preventing tree diseases;
  • Collaborate with various city departments and stakeholders to promote and manage the city's urban forests;
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform urban forestry decisions;
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate urban forestry information to stakeholders;
  • Work closely with the Sustainable Environment division on specific projects and initiatives;
  • Supervise summer students and provide training and mentorship as needed;

You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to urban forestry.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A college diploma in arboriculture, landscaping, agronomy or other relevant field;
  • 2-3 years of experience in a related role;
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken French;
  • Good knowledge of office and/or field geomatics tools of Esri's ArcGis platform; Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • A valid and recognized driver's license required for the job;
  • A safety card for construction sites;

Estimated Salary

$65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
