Job Title: Farm Laborer

We are seeking a skilled and physically fit Farm Laborer to join our team at Pennwood Dairy Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to farm operations, including crop care, animal husbandry, and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fertilize and spray crops to ensure optimal growth and yield
  • Feed and tend to animals, including cows, pigs, and chickens
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, including tractors and milking systems
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain a safe and healthy environment for animals
  • Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry, and take corrective action as needed
  • Set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience in farm operations or a related field is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and handle heavy loads
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work outdoors in a rural area, with exposure to wet/damp and cold/refrigerated conditions. The work site environment is physically demanding, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and bending/crouching.
