Job Title: Farm Laborer

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Farm Laborer to join our team at Pennwood Dairy Inc. in a permanent position.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to farm operations, including fertilizing and spraying crops, feeding and tending animals, operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment, and milking cows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fertilize and spray crops to ensure optimal growth and yield
  • Feed and tend to animals, including cows, pigs, and chickens
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, including tractors and plows
  • Milk cows and store milk in a clean and sanitary environment
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain a safe and healthy environment for animals
  • Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry, and take corrective action as necessary
  • Set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset
  • Ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work outdoors in a rural area, with exposure to wet/damp and cold/refrigerated environments.
