About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team at The Grand Canal Retirement Residence. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Patient Care and Comfort
    • Perform various tasks to ensure the comfort and well-being of our residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
    • Supply and empty bed pans, and maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Monitor and Record Vital Signs
    • Take patients' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and record these readings accurately.
  • Provide Transportation and Mobility Support
    • Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
  • Respond to Call Signals and Collect Specimens
    • Answer call signals to determine patients' needs, and respond promptly to their requests.
    • Collect specimens as required, and handle them in a safe and hygienic manner.
  • Administer First Aid and Provide Emergency Care
    • Administer first aid in emergency situations, and provide basic life support as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience
    • Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Language and Communication Skills
    • Fluent English language skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment and Schedule
  • Work Term and Hours
    • Permanent position, working 30 hours per week.
