About the Position

The Director – PB Platform Financial Control is a leadership role within the Personal Banking Finance team at RBC, responsible for leading, managing, and empowering a team of accounting and finance professionals.

This role involves collaborating with various Finance and functional teams and supporting senior leaders across Finance and the business.

You will play a key role in co-piloting with the business to enhance and establish best practices in Personal Banking's overall control framework.

Main Accountabilities

This role encompasses:

  • Leading a talented and motivated team responsible for PB Platform financial reporting and controls;
  • Providing technical accounting guidance and addressing specific technical accounting queries raised by multiple stakeholders;
  • Overseeing the financial close cycle for PB, including timely and accurate reporting of our monthly/quarterly results;
  • Managing the PB global internal control and governance framework;
  • Establishing the team as the key platform financial control conduit for regional and global functional teams;
  • Enabling and deepening relationships with the business and other key stakeholders striving to be a center of knowledge and excellence for PB and owning accountability in resolving all platform finance-related issues;

Essential Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A CPA designation or equivalent with 10+ years of experience;
  • Strong team and people management abilities;
  • Curiosity to explore better ways of working and motivating the team while maintaining a strong governance mindset;
  • Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure executive level requests on an ongoing basis;
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills;
  • Superior organizational and problem-solving skills;
