Base pay range

CA$140,000.00/yr - CA$160,000.00/yr

Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director of FP&A to lead our client's financial planning and analysis function. This critical role will be responsible for providing financial insights, driving strategic decision-making, ensuring the company's financial health, and overseeing key operational reporting. The Director of FP&A will lead a team of financial professionals and partner with senior leadership to develop and execute financial plans and operational reports that support the company's growth objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the company's annual budget, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to assess potential risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights into financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain financial dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Develop and oversee the creation of operational performance reports.
  • Analyze operational data to provide insights into business efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Establish and monitor key operational metrics and KPIs.
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistent delivery of operational reporting.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to provide financial support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial alignment and accountability.
  • Provide financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Support M&A activities, from financial due diligence to post acquisition integration.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing FP&A team.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Improve financial systems and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing financial plans and operational reports that drive business results.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems and ERP software.
  • Experience in M&A activities is highly valued.
