Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support research priority setting for Indigenous Women & Two-spirit persons with sexual dysfunction and genito-pelvic pain (SD/GPP) across Canada. The overarching goal of the SHAPE Hub is to identify and address gaps that contribute to all Canadians having safe, timely, appropriate, accessible, culturally-informed, and trauma-informed care for SD/GPP.

Key Responsibilities
As a Research Assistant, you will assist in data collection for a national study aimed at understanding the research priorities of Indigenous women and Two-spirit persons with sexual difficulties and genito-pelvic pain. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful research that will help shape health policies and interventions.

  • Recruit participants for community-based research priority setting surveys
  • Conduct basic literature reviews, policy/legislative scans, and review literature and grey information
  • Obtain informed consent and maintain participant confidentiality
  • Participate in Hub activities, including workshops, and team meetings
  • Maintain project-related records and databases, entering data according to established protocols
  • Support the preparation of presentations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have a high school graduation and a minimum of one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You will also be willing to respect diverse perspectives, including those in conflict with your own, and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing your own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, ability to be thorough, accurate, and have a high level of attention to detail, and ability to effectively use MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
