About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Continuing Care Assistant to join our team at Mak Lodge Care Home. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming patients.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting a sense of well-being and comfort.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers of patients, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to healthcare professionals, ensuring timely interventions and care.
  • Participate in patient care planning and contribute to the development of individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a continuing care environment.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication.
  • Work Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
