About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Continuing Care Assistant to join our team at Mak Lodge Care Home. As a Continuing Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accompanying Patients on Outdoor Activities: Assist patients in participating in outdoor recreational activities, promoting their physical and mental well-being.
  • Providing Personal Care: Perform various personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming patients, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
  • Assisting with Daily Living Tasks: Help patients with daily living tasks, such as feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance.
  • Maintaining a Safe Environment: Ensure the patients' rooms and common areas are clean, tidy, and safe, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Communicating with Patients and Families: Maintain open and respectful communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff, addressing their concerns and needs.
  • Participating in Team Efforts: Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program in a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on patient care and support.
  • Certifications: Possession of a First Aid Certificate and any other relevant certifications.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 32-40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure, possess manual dexterity, and have attention to detail. A combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and crouching is required.
