Raven Connected, Inc. is seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Developer to join our team in downtown Ottawa. As a Cloud Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions to support our video telematics platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS.
  • Develop and deploy cloud-native applications and microservices using AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate cloud components into the video telematics platform, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
  • Implement security best practices and compliance standards to protect sensitive data stored and processed in the cloud environment.
  • Optimize cloud resources to improve performance, cost efficiency, and scalability of the platform.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement solutions to mitigate issues.
  • Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, evaluate new AWS services, and propose innovative solutions to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Document technical specifications, architectural designs, and deployment procedures for cloud-based systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Developer or similar role, with a focus on AWS IoT cloud services.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js for developing cloud-native applications.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, and CloudFormation.
  • Solid understanding of cloud architecture principles, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
