Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Pulsed Power Systems Design Engineer to join our Pulsed Power Team. The successful candidate will focus on designing high voltage/high current pulsed power components and systems to support fusion research, as well as constructing and testing design prototypes.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high voltage/high current pulsed power components and systems
  • Construct and test design prototypes
  • Deploy pulsed power systems, including coordination with internal and external groups
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Experience with the design of high current, high voltage systems
  • Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly advancing and evolving work environment
  • Strong documentation and organization skills, with experience using tools such as MS Office, Sharepoint, PDM, and Github
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mechanical design and assembly skills, including SolidWorks, machine shop hands-on, and 3D printing
  • Experience designing for high vacuum environments
  • Experience with design and implementation of electronics in a high EMI environment
  • Hands-on high voltage testing and safety
  • Experience with Python, Assembly, C/C++ or other relevant programming languages

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location of Richmond, BC, Canada.
