Job Summary

Tritan Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team in a leading manufacturing and packaging plant in the GTA (Aurora). The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Manager and work on the shop floor to maintain plant machinery and facilities and improve business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of fabrication, repair, servicing, troubleshooting, and rebuilds of mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Manage the layout and placement of equipment and machinery to ensure minimum downtime and optimize production efficiency.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn-out parts, and lubricating mechanical components.
  • Operate machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts and materials.
  • Install and troubleshoot vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as programmable logic controls, and replace electrical components.
  • Perform changeovers on different volumes and formats as required to meet production demands.
  • Implement preventative maintenance following standards and schedules as outlined in the PM and TPMS programs, including lubrication, adjustment, setting, replacement, cleaning, and other maintenance activities.
  • Assist and work with equipment/machine operators to ensure safe and continuous operation, and provide technical support as needed.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by management to improve plant efficiency and productivity.
  • Understand, support, and comply with all company policies, including Health and Safety, Environmental, Food Safety, and Quality.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily activities and spare parts consumption.
  • Be available to perform services after hours as needed and agreed upon with management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the team and achieve business objectives.

Requirements

  • At least 2 – 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Certified Journeyman Millwright with extensive experience in machine maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
  • Good knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with maintenance software and systems is an asset.
