Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wind Turbine Technician to join our team at Siemens Gamesa. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing and reporting on various troubleshooting tasks, turbine inspections, and repairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and report on troubleshooting tasks, turbine inspections, and repairs
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of wind turbine equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Inspect and diagnose issues with wind turbine components, including drivetrain, gearbox, and generator
  • Perform maintenance on wind turbine equipment, including troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic malfunctions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance plans and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Perform other duties as required to support the maintenance team

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of wind turbine maintenance and repair procedures
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in wind turbine maintenance and repair
  • Drivetrain experience preferred
  • Borescope experience strongly preferred
  • Gamesa platform experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead repair teams with little to no supervision

Compensation

The wage range for this role is $61,000 - $91,000 CAD per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
