Job Title: Environmental Services Cleaner

North York General Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Cleaner to join our team. As an Environmental Services Cleaner, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general housekeeping activities, including cleaning and disinfecting patient and clinical areas, as well as common areas such as hallways, stairwells, and restrooms.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, auto scrubbers, and carpet extractors.
  • Restock supplies and materials as needed.
  • Participate in infection control and quality management initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
Requirements:
  • Grade XII diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous cleaning experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents.
  • Good understanding of chemical and equipment use.
