We are seeking a skilled Employment Counsellor to join our team at Leads Employment Services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated professional to work with clients, helping them achieve their career goals. As an Employment Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in finding employment that matches their skills, interests, and experience.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. You will be responsible for conducting interviews, creating case histories, and identifying barriers to employment. Your expertise in job readiness skills, job search strategies, and resume writing will enable clients to effectively navigate the job market.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with clients to understand their employment history, educational background, and career aspirations.
  • Create comprehensive case histories, assess problems, and develop personalized plans to address employment barriers.
  • Provide guidance on job readiness skills, job search strategies, and resume writing to help clients secure employment.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry and record-keeping, to maintain accurate client information.
  • Offer consulting services to employers, community groups, and other organizations involved in providing career planning support or resources.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A strong understanding of human resources principles and employment-related issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience working with computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
