Job Description

The Ready Mix Operations Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our ready-mix concrete plants. This position will oversee the day-to-day activities of unionized and non-unionized hourly workforces, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record of managing labor relations and developing strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise unionized and non-unionized hourly workforces, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork
- Collaborate with operations management to develop and implement production plans that meet customer needs and business targets
- Manage labor relations, including collective bargaining agreements and employee handbooks
- Coordinate production, storage, and distribution activities in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Plan, organize, and batch concrete loads/deliveries to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products
- Implement, train, administer, and comply with environmental, health & safety, and quality system policies and procedures
- Perform concrete testing to ensure compliance with CSA and ASTM standards
- Complete paperwork and reporting as needed

Requirements

- At least two years post-secondary education (college or university)
- Previous ready-mix or similar industry experience preferred
- Excellent people management, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
- Fundamental knowledge of computer software (Windows, Word, Excel)
- Ability to travel frequently, including occasional overnights
- G Class license and clear 3-year abstract required
