Nurse Practitioner

Southern Health-Santé Sud is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide primary and consultative care to individuals and specific client groups, utilizing advanced nursing and medical theory to inform your practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide autonomous clinical care, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, pharmacological agents, and performing minor invasive procedures as required.
- Implement strategies to promote health and prevent illness, working in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Exercise independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and action to be taken on unusual matters, ensuring a high level of initiative and leadership.
- Active practicing membership on the RN Extended Practice (EP) Register of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and the scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Advanced nursing care knowledge related to health assessment, diagnostic, pharmacotherapeutics, and invasive and minor surgical procedures.
- Minimum of five (5) years recent clinical nursing experience, with a preference for experience in a primary care setting.
- Experience working across sectors and linking between programs/organizations is considered an asset.
- Recent experience in primary care with an emphasis on health education, promotion, and chronic disease management.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and function in a challenging environment.
- Proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
- All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy.
- Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
