Job Overview


The Advanced Risk Assessment Specialist plays a key role in evaluating the acceptability of complex, high-premium policies. This position requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure compliance with company guidelines.


Job Responsibilities



  • Evaluate risk using technology and external data sources for quoting, negotiating, and authorizing risk acceptance.
  • Arrange reinsurance or subscribing companies where necessary.
  • Determine policy renewal eligibility based on company guidelines and retention goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of decisions and policy data completeness.
  • Communicate decisions and respond to requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for insurance policies, processes, regulations, and audit.
  • Mentor and train less experienced team members.
  • Participate in periodic work reviews for quality assurance purposes.
  • Support business change development and implementation.
  • Ensure efficient handling of work assignments, including calls.
  • Influence team members positively and provide short-term direction towards team goals.
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external parties, including networking at industry events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications



  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Commercial Property and Casualty industry.
  • Post-secondary education or related business experience.
  • Bilingualism in English and French (written and spoken).
  • A completed or actively pursued Property and Casualty Industry Designation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and decision-making skills with justification.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with solution identification.
  • Adaptability and performance under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task and monitor progress to meet deadlines.

Based on the requirements and location, we estimate the salary range to be around $65,000 - $90,000 per year.
