Job Summary

The Memorial University is seeking a highly skilled Research and Technical Assistant II to support research initiatives in the School of Maritime Studies, specifically in the Ocean Safety Research Unit. This is a part-time contractual position that will run until June 16, 2025.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support research projects related to mental health and wellness within the Durham Regional Police Service.
  • Collect and analyze data, and assist with the creation of reports, articles, and other knowledge mobilization materials.
  • Conduct one-on-one interviews with participants and discuss topics related to trauma and mental health.
  • Work independently to meet assigned deadlines and use sound judgment and critical thinking to solve minor issues.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline such as psychology, sociology, public health, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite applications (Word, Excel, Teams, etc) and NVivo software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. The successful candidate will be required to use sound judgment and critical thinking to solve minor issues as they arise.
