About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Architect to join our team at the Department of Cyber Security & Digital Solutions. As a key member of our Digital Platforms Division, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the technical architecture for our organization's large-scale web presence.

As a Technical Architect, you will work closely with our Web Delivery Manager and a team of developers to create systems that allow us to achieve our government web strategy. Your expertise will be crucial in crafting the technical architecture for the web channel, leading the implementation of architecture, and designing, developing, and implementing web technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft the technical architecture for the web channel.
  • Lead the implementation of architecture.
  • Design, develop, and implement web technical solutions.
  • Develop strategic and operational targets through direction, planning, and implementation, and evaluate progress, making changes as necessary.
  • Undertake structured analysis of technical issues, translating this analysis into technical designs that describe a solution.
  • Look for opportunities to collaborate and reuse components, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage a budget and contracts.

Requirements:

  • Experience building an enterprise-scale website.
  • Proven track record of architecting and implementing web technology such as web CMS including Drupal and Wordpress.
  • Hands-on experience with containerized or cloud web software and infrastructure, including networking, routing, security, databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborative relationships across various teams and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrate superior communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Able to organize and prioritize work, managing tight deadlines, complex tasks and financial resources to effectively to meet strategic goals and maintain budget integrity.
  • Ability to maintain sound judgement achieve results in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience in leading change, managing risks, and ensuring the achievement of project objectives effectively manage stakeholder expectations.

Assets:

  • Familiarity with agile delivery methods (scrum, Kanban, XP).
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices that protect data and privacy.
  • Track record of modernization aging systems while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.
