Laundry Aide Job Description

At Tullamore Community, we're committed to providing exceptional care and services to our residents. As a Laundry Aide, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, process, and distribute linens and personal clothing in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Operate laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironing machines, to ensure high-quality results.
  • Sort, fold, and load linens and clothing onto carts for distribution and delivery.
  • Discard and record inventory as needed, maintaining accurate records and ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Maintain high sanitation standards, adhering to infection control protocols and cleaning schedules to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the team leader.
  • Assist in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment, and supplies, ensuring a clean and well-stocked workspace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the laundry team and maintain a high level of service quality.
Requirements:
  • Secondary school graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of infection control, cleaning practices, and housekeeping operations.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and residents.
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario applicants) or Criminal Records Check (British Columbia applicants).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in institutional cleaning or laundry in long-term care or retirement residences.
