Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Coastal Forest Instructor to join our team at North Island College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing courses in the Coastal Forest Technology Diploma and Coastal Forest Worker Certificate programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver instructional materials for various courses, including Introduction to Forestry, Plant Identification and Classification, and Forest Measurements and Sampling Techniques.
  • Teach and assess students in a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Design and conduct evaluations of student progress and maintain accurate records of student enrollment and achievement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the College's educational policies and strategic plans.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in education, forestry, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years industry experience in forestry or a related field.
  • Experience with curriculum development and teaching in a post-secondary setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with instructional technologies and digital tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BC Instructors Diploma or BC Teaching Certificate.
  • Experience with blended learning and online instruction.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
