Logistics Coordinator Job Description

Slegg Building Materials is seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation logistics and be able to coordinate the movement of freight between vendor sites, Slegg stores, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and dispatch freight movements in a timely manner
  • Coordinate the transfer of freight between Slegg stores
  • Obtain rate quotes from carriers to assist with decision making
  • Analyze and suggest solutions to mitigate freight and logistics costs
  • Communicate with internal sales professionals and purchasers to ensure customer deliveries are met
Requirements:
  • Two or more years of experience in transportation logistics
  • Previous experience in the trucking industry is an asset
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work under pressure and adjust to urgent situations
