Senior Director, Strategic Projects

Join Loblaw Companies Limited as a Senior Director, Strategic Projects, and lead a team responsible for managing short- and long-term initiatives that support the Division's strategy.

This is a full-time position that requires a University or college degree in Business, or an equivalent degree in a related field of study, and 5-10 years of relevant work experience leading teams in a project management or strategy setting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Canadian retail industry and of the grocery sector, including macroeconomic trends, competitive dynamics, and opportunities / risks.

This role is part of the Super Market Division, and the Senior Director of Strategic Projects will work closely with leads throughout the Division to plan, coordinate, and execute major projects to improve sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead key Divisional initiatives and projects through all stages of a typical project life cycle.
  • Drive and influence workstream leads / project managers on program activities to ensure deliverables are achieved on time, within budget and achieve the strategic goals of the program.
  • Work with Project Managers to identify and assess project risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project operational and capital budgets and report on program results.
  • Design and develop program / project presentations to key executive stakeholders throughout the business.
Requirements:
  • University or college degree in Business, or an equivalent degree in a related field of study.
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience leading teams in a project management or strategy setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian retail industry and of the grocery sector.
