Job Summary
The Proposal Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the proposal development process, ensuring compliance, persuasiveness, and timely submissions. This position involves supervising a team of Proposals Coordinators, guiding them to adhere to established processes and standards, and providing high-quality submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of proposals, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and internal standards.
- Supervise and mentor teams of 3-5 Proposals Coordinators to ensure timely and accurate submissions of proposals.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring balanced workloads and efficient use of resources.
- Conduct regular check-ins and status meetings to monitor progress and address any issues.
- Review and provide feedback on proposal drafts to ensure clarity, persuasiveness, and compliance.
- Ensure that all proposal activities adhere to the organization's established processes and best practices.
- Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposal development process.
- Facilitate communication between proposal team members, estimators, operations team, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate inputs and reviews from various departments to ensure comprehensive and cohesive proposals.
- Conduct final reviews of proposals to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Implement quality control measures to minimize errors and enhance the overall quality of proposals.
- Maintain detailed records of proposal activities, including timelines, responsibilities, and outcomes.
- Prepare regular reports on proposal status, team performance, and process improvements.
- Document lessons learned and best practices to continuously improve the proposal development process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal management or a related role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Prior experience supervising a team of Proposals Coordinators.
- Strong understanding of proposal development processes and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in proposal management software and tools.
- APMP Foundation or Practitioner Certification is an asset.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring proposal team members.
