Key Responsibilities- Provide competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities.
- Advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors.
- Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring dietetic interns.
- Contribute to client care through collaboration with healthcare team providers, sharing nutrition expertise, and ensuring quality and continuity of care.
- Support a range of healthcare services within a holistic, client-centered framework.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Dietitian who possesses the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a major concentration in Foods and Nutrition.
- Dietetic Internship Program completion.
- Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association.
- Minimum one year of working experience as a dietitian.
- Inpatient clinical nutrition experience is an asset.
- Competency in dysphagia management, enteral, and parenteral nutrition.
- Experience counseling patients in an outpatient setting.
- Current WHMIS certification is an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work under pressure of time limitations.
- Demonstrated participation in continuing education and upgrading of skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French preferred.
- Long-assignment part-time; 60% position; 45 hours bi-weekly.
- Approximately 18 months; assignment length subject to change.
