Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Relief Baker-Breakfast/Chef to join our team at Horizon North/Outland. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing relief coverage for the Chef and Baker/Breakfast positions, ensuring that all meals are prepared and served to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide relief coverage for Chef and Baker/Breakfast positions
  • Prepare and cook all main meals according to client requirements
  • Ensure food costs are controlled and groceries are utilized effectively
  • Supervise staff in the Chef's absence and provide mentorship and training to new staff
  • Stock and inventory groceries and supplies
  • Assist with special dietary requests and ensure paperwork and inventories are accurately completed

Requirements

  • Red Seal Certification required
  • 5 years of cooking experience in a similar or hotel/institutional environment preferred
  • SafeCheck advanced food safety certification required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team player
  • Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Sysco, Outlook)
