About the Job

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic at GFL, you will play a critical role in keeping our trucks and equipment in top working condition. You will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on our fleet of diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically-operated trucks, as well as associated heavy duty equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform morning tasks, including maintenance or repairs of diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically-operated trucks, as well as associated heavy duty equipment.
  • Use various power tools, hand instruments, and cutting-edge equipment to complete tasks.
  • Complete daily reports, work orders, and order necessary parts.
  • Plan and schedule repairs in M5 planner and procure parts.
  • Assist in the review of mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedule.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), technical diploma desired. You will also need experience as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic and relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic who is able to work independently and maintain accurate records. You will need to be willing to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform the job and exert physical effort, including pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting items up to 100 lbs.
