About the Role

Glenmore Fabricators Ltd is seeking a skilled Building Construction Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects
  • Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present to clients
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Prepare master format estimates (Class A) and elemental format estimates (Classes B, C, D)
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Coordinate activities with warehouse and production units
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Or equivalent experience
  • Commercial and/or industrial construction experience
  • Industrial construction experience
  • Institutional construction experience
  • Residential construction experience
  • Structural engineering experience
  • Contractors experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with project coordination
  • Experience with purchasing, procurement, and contracts
  • Experience with steel industry
  • Experience with structural metal or steel
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. They will be required to work under pressure and have excellent attention to detail.
