Job Title: Building Construction Estimator

Glenmore Fabricators Ltd is seeking a skilled Building Construction Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs for our structural steel fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects
  • Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Prepare master format estimates (Class A) and elemental format estimates (Classes B, C, D)
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures
  • Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Co-ordinate activities with warehouse and production units
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience in construction estimating, preferably in the steel industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colours
