Physician Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Associate to join our Vascular Surgery team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in patient rounds and assessments, working collaboratively with our attending physicians and other care team members.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, responding to changing patient conditions and consulting with attending staff as needed.
- Perform and document admission history and physical examinations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and medication reconciliation, adhering to CPSBC and organizational standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Perform procedures within your scope of practice, including insertion of peripheral IV lines, initiation of IV medication, and wound care.
- Successful completion of Part 1 of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) or Steps 1 through 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLEs).
- Medical degree from a school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
- Minimum of two years of accredited postgraduate training as a medical or surgical specialist, verified by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC).
- Proficiency in the English language, as established by the CPSBC, and eligibility for registration with the CPSBC in the Associate Physician class, under sponsorship by Fraser Health.
- Ability to diagnose and manage common medical problems in the obstetric patient.
- Confidence and experience in recognizing and initiating response to emergency situations.
- Excellent English communication skills, including with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
