Job Summary:

Our client, a leading Municipal/Land Development Transportation Design Group in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a skilled Civil Traffic & Transportation Engineer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct traffic impact analysis and prepare reports, including coordinating traffic counts, calculating growth rates, trip generation, assessing traffic impact at access locations/nearby intersections, and compiling recommended roadway improvement
  • Develop design concepts into preliminary designs, including preparation of design briefs, detailed geometry and general layout development, as well as other infrastructure elements
  • Preliminary cost estimates
  • Attend/prepare presentations for Public Open House/Planning Committee Meetings as required
  • Utilize and expand knowledge of current industry practices and standards, undertaking engineering analysis following these approved standards and procedures
  • Manage and mentor junior staff
  • Manage client relationships on a per-project basis
Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering – Interest or Concentration in Transportation
  • P.Eng designation or the ability to register with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Field or Site Work experience an asset (survey, inspection)
  • Knowledge of the following software would be an asset: 8 Traffic software, Rodel-v1Win (Roundabout software), AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Applications
  • Excellent communication skills, technical writing skills
  • Independent, displaying a high level of commitment
