About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced International Language Instructor to join our team at the Toronto Catholic District School Board. As a Language Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching students in a variety of languages, including Cantonese, Croatian, Filipino, Hungarian, Igbo, Italian, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Tigrinya.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with varying abilities and language skills.
  • Provide a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes cultural awareness and understanding.
  • Collaborate with administration, school staff, and the school community to ensure student success and well-being.
  • Conduct student progress reporting and maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • High School Diploma plus additional teacher training or training in language teaching methodologies; university degree preferred.
  • Teaching degree or experience from other countries will be considered.
  • Language teaching experience in the Canadian classroom.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in the target language.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
