Job Title: Staff Scientist - AI and Automation

Join the Acceleration Consortium at the University of Toronto as a Staff Scientist - AI and Automation. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced researcher to work on the development of AI and automation technologies for the creation of self-driving labs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement AI and automation technologies for the creation of self-driving labs
  • Work closely with the research team to design and implement research programs that leverage the AC's SDLs
  • Collaborate with industry partners to develop and implement research projects
  • Manage and oversee the activities of a lab
  • Develop and implement plans to support research collaborations and estimate financial resources required for programs and/or projects

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, life sciences, physics, engineering, robotics, computer science, or related discipline
  • 5-10 years of experience in accelerated research and development in the area of organic synthesis, organometallic catalysis, and computational
  • Strong experience and expert knowledge of AI and automation
  • Experience working with industry partners and on industry-led research and development projects
  • Strong experience presenting research at academic conferences
  • Demonstrated record of academic and/or research excellence
