Job Title: Forestry Log Truck Driver

Job Summary:

Thompson Bros. (CONSTR.) LP is seeking a skilled Forestry Log Truck Driver to transport logs from the forest to processing facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating log trucks, ensuring loads are secure, and adhering to all transportation and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate log trucks to transport logs from logging sites to processing or storage facilities.
  • Ensure loads are secure and meet all safety standards.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Adhere to all transportation and safety regulations.
  • Communicate with forestry teams to coordinate load pickups and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and load details.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license with air brake endorsement.
  • Proven experience as a log truck driver or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation safety protocols.
  • Ability to operate log trucks in challenging terrain and weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certification.
  • Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA) Certification, BSO or CSO equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test.
