Job Title: Behavioural Therapist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioural Therapist to join our team at The Royal Mental Health Centre. As a Behavioural Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized Behavioural plans in conjunction with the treatment team.
  • Conduct behavioural assessments and provide recommendations for treatment strategies.
  • Collaborate with staff and community partners to develop and deliver training sessions.
  • Provide ongoing support and follow-up to residents and their families.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and enhance staff's ability to manage responsive behaviours.
  • Ensure compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate diploma or degree in Behaviour Analysis or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with clients in Long Term Care and the community.
  • Direct clinical experience implementing Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) preferred.
  • Board Certified Assistant Behavioural Analyst (BCaBA) preferred.
  • Ability to train others in ABA principles an asset.
  • Computer skills and experience with care planning functions and workload measurement tools.
  • Training in Gentle Persuasive Approach, Montessori, or willingness to complete training required.
  • Specialized skills in dementia, mental health, and addictions.
