Behavioural Therapist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioural Therapist to join our team at The Royal Mental Health Centre. As a Behavioural Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our residents and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized Behavioural plans in conjunction with the treatment team.
- Conduct Behavioural assessments and provide recommendations for treatment strategies.
- Coordinate and monitor service delivery, including training sessions for clients, staff, and community partners.
- Participate in the development and delivery of educational programs for residents and staff.
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up for LTCH staff and residents with complex care and Behavioural issues.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and enhance staff's ability to manage responsive behaviours and care plan interventions.
- Ensure compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Post-graduate diploma or degree in Behaviour Analysis or a related field.
- Prior experience working with clients in Long Term Care and the community.
- Direct clinical experience implementing Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is preferred.
- Board Certified Assistant Behavioural Analyst (BCaBA) is preferred.
- Ability to train others in ABA principles is an asset.
- Computer skills and experience with care planning functions and workload measurement tools.
- Training in Gentle Persuasive Approach, Montessori, or willingness to complete training is required.
- Specialized skills in dementia, mental health, and addictions, including knowledge of best practices and their impact on residents, families, and care providers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Long Term Care (LTC) Home Act and regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team model and demonstrate independent practice initiative.
- Strong knowledge of community resources for seniors with mental health and addictions issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility in working hours to meet clinic schedules.
Salary Range: $33.32 to $44.66 per hour
