About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Labourer and Helper to join our team at Doug Tarry Homes. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful completion of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading Materials: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from the construction site.
  • Site Preparation: Assist in preparing the construction site by leveling earth to fine grade specifications.
  • Demolition and Debris Removal: Assist in demolishing buildings and removing rubble and other debris from the construction site.
  • Site Safety: Ensure a safe working environment by cleaning up chemical spills and other contaminants, and directing traffic at or near the construction site.
  • Assisting Tradespeople: Assist tradespeople in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
  • Material Handling: Handle heavy loads and assist in erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Work Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work, requiring the ability to work under pressure, handle heavy loads, and perform tasks that require attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
  • Work Environment: Work outdoors in a noisy, dusty environment.
