About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at the Best Western Plus Norwester Hotel & Conference Centre. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our hotel and resort facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the hotel and resort facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaning machines, polishing machines, steam cleaners, power tools, and other equipment as required.
  • Task Completion: Complete tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing hallways, floors, and stairs, as well as emptying trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Supervision: Supervise other workers and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Physical Demands: Work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, and kneeling as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license and other required certifications.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Urban area, hotel, motel, resort.
  • Work Schedule: 80 to 88 hours bi-weekly.
