Ferrous Processing and Trading, a subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs Inc., is seeking a skilled Laborer to join their team at the Windsor, ON location. As a Laborer, you will play a critical role in the processing of scrap metals, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain mobile equipment, including forklifts, skid steers, and street sweepers, to load and unload materials from storage, production areas, docks, delivery vehicles, staging areas, or containers.
  • Sort and separate high-grade metals from non-conforming materials, using various tools and equipment.
  • Perform physical labor tasks, including cleaning duties related to plant equipment and general housekeeping.
  • Assist mechanics in the maintenance of equipment and interact with customers or drivers to direct or assist them.
  • Perform other general laborer tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math.
  • Experience operating mobile equipment is preferred.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow oral and written communication.
  • Ability to climb ladders or steps to reach objects and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work cooperatively with other employees and the public.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts and in an environment routinely exposed to dust, dirt, vibrations, extreme climate, and weather changes.
  • Pre-employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required.
